USS RAFAEL PERALTA (DDG 115) will be the 65th ship of its class and is classified as a Flight IIA DDG 51 Class Destroyer.  The 509 foot, 9250 ton Arleigh Burke Class (DDG 51) Guided Missile Destroyer is one of the U.S. Navy’s most advanced ships.  The ship along with its 304 crewmembers, made of 25 officers and 280 enlisted personnel, will conduct prompt, sustained combat operations at sea in support of national policy.  She can operate with a Carrier Strike Group (CSG), Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG), as an element of a Surface Action Group (SAG), or independently.  She can be called upon to conduct a variety of missions in support of national military strategy.  From peacetime presence and crisis management to sea control and power projection, she will be capable of carrying out Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD), Undersea Warfare (USW), Surface Warfare (SW), and Strike Warfare (STW) in multi-threat environments.
